Writer in Residence: From the Page to the Screen
Each year VPL pushes at the boundaries of creativity in new and exciting ways, and 2019 was no different. Bridging the gap between its Inspiration Lab and its Writing Camp, this year they’ve selected award-winning screenwriter Ken Hegan as the Writer in Residence.
“The film and television production industry is a rich and vital part of Vancouver’s creative and economic fabric and many Vancouverites have a passion for scriptwriting,” says Chief Librarian Christina de Castell, “Having Ken as our writer in residence supports local aspiring scriptwriters to develop their skills and add their stories to the creative tapestry of our city.”
You can see him in action, or book a session, between now and January 15, 2020. Your support through this campaign will help fund next year’s Writer in Residence.
Help us Build Creative Communities!
Together with the Writing & Book Camp, these two vital programs are inspiring fresh, vibrant, and diverse stories to be told – in print, in comics, and on the silver screen – as well as bringing the community together from across Vancouver. Please consider making a gift today and help us inspire more stories to be told in 2020 and reach our goal of raising $10,000.
