Friends to support community-based art project for upcoming nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona branch
Friends of the Vancouver Public Library is pleased to support the development of a community-based art installation for the entrance of the nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona library branch. The Friends previously committed $5000 to the purchase of artwork for the new branch but agreed to increase the donation to $8000 in order to hire a local artist to facilitate the development of artistic works by community members that will be displayed on a large screen in the new library. nə́c̓aʔmat ct is expected to open to the public in the Summer of 2016.
The Friends donation to the new library is made possible through the generous contributions of the membership, book sales, and the proceeds from book’mark The Library Store.
