Fundraising
Annual Book Sale
The Friends of Vancouver Public Library runs an annual Used Book Sale, another major fundraising activity. Taking place in October at Central Branch, you can buy used books for a bargain, including mysteries, cook books, biographies, fiction, and even special collectible books.Stay at Home and Read a Book Ball
This non-event is our big fundraiser of the year. In November, guests are invited to sway their expensive tuxedos and evening dresses for a chance to spend a quiet evening at home with a good book, and are asked to donate the money that they would have spent on an evening out to Friends of the VPL.Our creative graphics for the Read a Book Ball have been widely admired and have been used to adorn T-shirts and book bags at various times.
