Mission
The Friends of the Vancouver Public Library is an association of community members who value our library and demonstrate support through membership and volunteer participation.

Our goals are to raise funds for library collections and special projects; build membership; promote and assist library programs; initiate special projects; encourage donations; and advocacy.

Mandate

• To support the mission and vision of the Vancouver Public Library
• To focus public attention on the library and educate the public about the library by encouraging closer relations and improving communications between the public and the Library
• To support and promote both central and branch library services, programs and facilities
• To encourage and support the future growth and expansion of the Vancouver library system, and, to encourage endowments and gifts and raise funds to support special Library needs

Since 1995 we have raised over $400,000 and funded many programs and services beyond what is in the library budget.
We are always looking for new members, please join us!
